The Quality Commission of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University convened with its newly appointed members under the chairmanship of Dean Prof. Dr. Fatih Ayhan to review institutional quality processes and complete preparations for the Fall Semester of the 2026-2027 Academic Year. During the meeting, an extensive agenda consisting of eight main headings was addressed, ranging from education and research-development to digitalization and student-centered processes.
Digitalization and Quality Standards in Educational Processes
The primary agenda item was structuring educational activities under the course management system framework and executing them via digital platforms. In this context, comprehensive measures were adopted to enhance educational quality and uphold institutional standards. Updating the Bologna information packages, balancing ECTS workloads, and entering program competence matrices into the system were finalized, alongside reviewing and introducing course syllabi in light of feedback from previous student survey results. In accordance with the Associate and Undergraduate Education-Examination Regulations, the rigorous implementation of course conduct, attendance tracking mechanisms, and compensation procedures was resolved. Furthermore, standardized exam templates and proctoring guidelines were established across the faculty to reinforce exam security, while digital platform integration, submission schedules for learning outcome assessment records prepared by academic staff, and department-level distribution and submission protocols for final exam envelopes were clarified.
Academic Performance, Internationalization, and Student Development
Measures to enhance academic and administrative staff satisfaction were reviewed, with institutional support mechanisms brought to the forefront to encourage research performance and international indexed publications.
Efforts were aimed at expanding student participation in Double Major, Minor, Erasmus+ mobility, and internship programs (National Internship Program and voluntary internships), alongside operational improvements in application and credit adaptation processes.
Institutional Communication, Advising, and Social Processes
While operational measures were enacted to preserve the institutional alignment, dynamism, and currency of faculty and departmental websites, holistic initiatives to promote the academic, social, and professional development of students were determined. The effective coordination of social, cultural, sporting events, career fairs, and ÜNİDES project initiatives was scheduled, along with defining the timeline and core framework for the 2026-2027 student orientation program to facilitate seamless integration for newly admitted students. In addition, academic and career counseling services were reorganized by improving the appointment management workflow and follow-up tracking systems. Following a thorough evaluation of the BANÜ Quality Coordinatorship Student Satisfaction Survey results and focus group feedback, actionable improvement plans were established for prompt implementation.
Emphasizing a quality-oriented, participatory, and transparent governance approach, Dean Prof. Dr. Fatih Ayhan noted that the resolutions adopted would be submitted to authorized faculty boards for formal endorsement. The meeting concluded with the Dean expressing gratitude to the commission members for their contributions and extending his best wishes for a productive academic semester.
