We Held Our Conference “From the Field to Academia: Certified Public Accountant and Independent Accountant Professions”

 

The conference titled “From the Field to Academia: Certified Public Accountant and Independent Accountant Professions,” organized by the Department of Finance and the Finance Society of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, was successfully held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the university's main campus. The event, which brought together experts in the profession with our students, was well-received.

Certified Public Accountant Ömer Saraç and Independent Accountant Ayça Erdoğan participated as panelists, sharing their knowledge and experience regarding the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Independent Accountant (IFAC) professions with the students. Our Head of the Department of Finance, Prof. Dr. Özgür Biyan, and the advisor of the Finance Society and also the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Oğuzhan Yelkesen, also attended the event, providing support.

The conference comprehensively addressed the current status of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) professions, the entry processes into the profession, practices encountered in the field, career planning, and current assessments regarding the future of the profession. Panelists shared their professional experiences through concrete examples, helping students reinforce their theoretical knowledge with a practical perspective.

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to directly ask panelists questions about many topics, including professional internships, competency exams, areas of specialization, and career opportunities. In this respect, the conference significantly contributed to increasing students' professional awareness and helping them shape their career goals more consciously.

The program concluded with thanks to the valuable panelists who accepted our invitation and shared their knowledge and experience, to the participating academics, and to all the students who showed interest in the event, followed by a photo session.
