16th Mülkiye Young Social Policy Scholars Congress (6–7 November 2025)
Dear Professors and Colleagues,
Over the years, the Mülkiye Young Social Policy Scholars Congress, organized for the purpose of contributing to the education and development of students in the field of social policy, is preparing to meet with its participants for the 16th time.
The first congress, held in 2008, was gratifying not only for presenting original, critical, and academically enriching papers but also for fostering social contact among students. The fact that some participants who presented papers in previous years later joined various departments as research assistants stands as concrete evidence of the congress’s contribution. The congress has played an important role as an academic training ground and will continue to maintain this character.
The 16th Mülkiye Young Social Policy Scholars Congress will be held on 6–7 November 2025 at the Mülkiyeliler Birliği in Ankara. This year, the congress will continue with papers presented exclusively by graduate students. The congress is open not only to students of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations but also to graduate students in sociology, economics, political science, history, law, and other social sciences, provided they participate with studies related to social policy. Following the peer-review process, accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings Book.
All graduate students studying or conducting research in the field of social policy may submit proposals on topics including but not limited to: social security, social exclusion, occupational health and safety, gender, child labor, disadvantaged groups and discrimination in working life, migrant labor, labor history, labor process, trade unionism and social movements, income distribution, employment-unemployment-wages, labor law, urban studies, poverty, and the relationship between working life and art.
Participants whose papers are accepted will be informed about accommodation and travel support provided by the Organizing Committee.
We expect participants to address their chosen topics by considering both general and specific aspects, the universal as well as the local, and by balancing written sources with practical studies, while presenting their own perspectives and suggestions. Submitted abstracts and accepted full papers will undergo peer review; only those accepted will be presented at the congress.
The proceedings of the 15th Mülkiye Young Social Policy Scholars Congress are attached.
