A meaningful conference was held by the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, within the scope of May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day.

At the event titled “From May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day to the Digital Age: Labor, Security, and the Working Regimes of the Future,” the transformations in working life, the impact of digitalization on labor markets, social protection mechanisms, and future models of work were comprehensively discussed.

The speaker of the event, Prof. Dr. Sayım YORGUN, a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University, evaluated the changes in contemporary working life by referring to the historical development of the concept of labor. Participants had the opportunity to gain valuable academic insights into current issues and the future of working life.

The conference was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 14:30 in the Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Conference Hall and attracted significant interest from the university’s academic and administrative staff as well as students.
