The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations (LEIR) at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University organized an orientation program to support the adaptation of newly enrolled students to university and departmental life during the 2026–2027 academic year.

As part of the program, newly enrolled students were informed about the academic and administrative structure of the University, the educational opportunities offered by the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, the academic staff of the Department, and the academic and social opportunities available to students.

The orientation program provided comprehensive information on various aspects of university life, including course registration and academic advising processes, education and examination procedures, the Student Information System, academic advising services, and students’ rights and responsibilities. Students were also informed about departmental and extracurricular activities that can contribute to their academic and personal development.

The program also introduced students to national and international mobility opportunities, including Erasmus+ and other exchange programs, as well as internship and career opportunities and various academic, cultural, and social activities that may contribute to their personal and professional development.

Students were further informed about the Department’s quality assurance and accreditation activities, with particular emphasis placed on the importance of student feedback in improving educational processes. The contribution of active participation in the Department’s scientific, cultural, and social activities to students’ academic and personal development was also highlighted.

During the orientation program, students’ questions and concerns were addressed, and guidance was provided on various processes they may encounter throughout their university and departmental life.

Following the program, an Orientation Program Evaluation Survey was conducted to collect students’ opinions and feedback. According to the evaluation report prepared based on the students’ responses, the orientation program contributed positively to students’ adaptation to university and departmental life, while the information provided throughout the program was found to be useful and sufficient by the students. The survey results also demonstrated a high level of overall student satisfaction, with students particularly appreciating the information provided about the Department’s academic structure, educational processes, and opportunities available to them.

The feedback obtained from the students will also be taken into consideration in the planning and improvement of orientation programs to be organized in the coming years.

The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations aims to provide its 2026-entry students with a strong start to their university journey, support their academic development, and foster a strong sense of belonging to the Department.

The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations welcomes all new students and wishes them a successful, productive, and fulfilling university experience.
