Career Days Event Brought Together Students and Professionals

The Career Days event, organized by the Department of Economics and the Economics Society to assist our students and stakeholders in their career planning and to help them gain a closer understanding of the professional world, was held from May 27 to 29 in the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Conference Hall at our university. This important event brought together many esteemed guests from both the public and private sectors with our students and stakeholders.

On May 27, the event featured two sessions. First, Mehmet Cengiz, the Director of the Bandırma Tax Office, provided valuable insights into tax policies and the public sector. Following this, Onur Batur, Adnan Yener, and Yusuf Can from the Balıkesir Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (SMMMO) shared the intricacies of the accounting profession and their experiences in the field with the students.

On the second day of the Career Days, Cevdet Arnık, Chairman of the Board of Teksüt, discussed the dynamics of the dairy industry and shared his business experiences. The final day of the event concluded with two sessions. In the first session, Egemen Keskin from Garanti Bank provided information on the banking sector and career opportunities. In the second session, experts from Gedik Investment, Aylin Utku, Eylem Ongun, and Hakan Kara, held an interactive discussion with the students about financial markets and investment strategies.

At the end of each session, a Q&A segment was held where participants answered the students' questions and shared their experiences.
