Department Introduction

About the Economics Department

The Economics Department was established in 1993 under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Balıkesir University Bandırma. The department started its educational activities on October 18, 1993, and graduated its first students in 1997. On April 23, 2015, the department became part of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, as stipulated by Law No. 6640 published in the Official Gazette No. 29335. An English preparatory class is available in our department based on student preference.

Our Economics Department offers both regular and evening education programs. Educational and academic activities are conducted under the following sub-departments:

• Economic Development and International Economics Department
• Economic Policy Department
• Economic History Department
• Economic Theory Department

Academic Programs

In addition to undergraduate education, our department offers Master’s programs with thesis in Turkish and English, as well as a PhD program. These programs are designed to guide students in all areas of the economics discipline, enhancing their ability to think and make decisions as economists.

Academic Staff

The Economics Department boasts a young and dynamic academic staff who are experts in their fields. Our staff continuously develop themselves and conduct various research projects to provide students with the most current knowledge and skills. Our department comprises a total of 22 academic personnel:
