Political Science and Public Administration Master's Program
Depending on Balıkesir University Institute of Social Sciences, education has started in the Public Administration Graduate Program under the Public Administration Department within the 2004-2005 Academic Year Fall semester. The program was revised in 2012 as a Master's Program with a Thesis in Political Science and Public Administration. With the establishment of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University on April 23, 2015, Political Science and Public Administration Master Program with the thesis was added to Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Institute of Social Sciences. The program continues its education in the Social Sciences Institute and its academic activities with the contributions of the academic staff of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, especially faculty members of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
The aim of the master's program is to train qualified personnel for the executive positions in public, private, and non-governmental organizations and academicians for the scientific world. For this purpose, the compulsory and elective courses in the graduate program have been determined on the basis of Political Science and Public Administration disciplines. The program aims to raise individuals and scientists who are required in the field and who have acquired the scientific knowledge and analysis skills of Political Science and Public Administration disciplines. For this purpose, besides giving general and theoretical information to the students in the fields of Public Administration, Political Science, and Public Policy, practical studies are also carried out. In this way, students, who graduate from the Political Science and Public Administration Master's Program with Thesis, are provided to specialize in a subject they can determine in today's administrative and political fields and to produce solutions.
The program has the responsibility of raising individuals who are equipped with the knowledge, capable of dealing with research and problems, enlightening their environment with high communication skills, adopting the obligation to inform the society by following the truth. In addition, it is aimed to educate graduates who can propose solutions for the problems that are getting more complicated due to the complexities in the world. Moreover, the student will be able to comprehend the theories, concepts, and methods in the field of Political Science and Public Administration, have the ability to make real-life applications, analyze and interpret them, and contribute to national and international projects. To raise researchers and faculty members who can make qualified publications is also another aim of the program.
