Program Qualifications / Learning Outcomes
Program Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
1. To know the universal concepts and theories of politics, policy-making processes, reflections of policies on society, current political life and problems; to have the skills and competencies to use this knowledge by producing multiple alternative solutions in the face of new situations and problems.
2. To be able to handle the public administration system with its historical, theoretical and legal background, to identify and analyze new problems/issues encountered, and to develop potential solutions based on research.
3. To have the functional and organizational competence to carry out management activities in different organizations (public, private, non-governmental and international organizations) by using scientific knowledge and practical life experiences in the context of planning, implementation and control processes.
4. To have the methodological and technological knowledge, ability and competence needed to carry out solution-oriented research. In this context, to develop the ability to use the most up-to-date computer applications and information systems.
5. To have the knowledge, skills and competence to conduct studies independently on issues related to his/her field and to demonstrate flexibility and interdisciplinary approach to conduct these studies with stakeholders when necessary.
6. To have knowledge in disciplines such as law, business, economics, finance, sociology, international relations, labor economics and industrial relations related to the field and to be able to use this knowledge in problem solving.
7. To have basic knowledge in the fields of Local Governments, urbanization and environmental problems and to be able to bring interdisciplinary solutions to the problems encountered in these areas.
8. To have the theoretical and methodological competence to evaluate and analyze public policies in practice and to propose alternative policies.
9. To act in the light of ethical and universal values in his/her professional life and academic studies (in the processes of data collection, analysis, interpretation and sharing of outputs).
10. To be an individual who has internalized his/her responsibility towards the world, his/her country and society, who can make positive contributions to his/her environment at different levels and dimensions, and who is at peace with himself/herself and his/her environment.
