Dear Students,

In order to foster a culture of healthy living, support environmental sustainability, and provide a safer environment for all our stakeholders, our university has transitioned to a “Full Smoke-Free Campus” policy across all campuses as of July 1, 2026.

In accordance with relevant legislation, the University Senate's decision, and the guidelines prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and the Turkish Green Crescent Society; the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, hookahs, and all other tobacco derivatives has been restricted in all open and enclosed campus areas.

Key Objectives of the Policy:

• Reducing tobacco use and preventing exposure to secondhand smoke,
• Promoting healthy lifestyle habits among our students, staff, and visitors,
• Creating a “Healthy, Clean, and Safe Campus” environment.

To ensure the effective implementation of this policy, informational activities will continue across our digital communication channels, and newly enrolled students will be fully informed during their orientation processes.
