Internship Procedures

Dear Students of the Department of Public Finance,

One of the most important topics you are curious about is internship opportunities. There is no compulsory internship application within our department. It is possible to do an internship on an optional basis. Optional internship programs are an important learning process that allows students of the Department of Public Finance to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practice. Academic knowledge acquired in courses such as public finance, tax law, public economics, budget management, and financial analysis is deepened and assimilated by comparing it with real institutional practices during the internship process. This integration, while developing the student's analytical thinking skills, offers the opportunity to observe the reflections of academic discipline in the field.

Internship experience helps students evaluate their professional competencies and concretize their career goals. Experiences gained in public institutions, private sector organizations, and auditing firms operating in the field of finance allow the student to explore their areas of interest and determine the topics they want to specialize in. In addition, the development of skills such as communication, time management, and teamwork in the work environment is an important advantage that increases employment opportunities after graduation.

Optional internships allow students to meet professional circles and expand their corporate networks. The relationships established by Department of Public Finance students with public and private sector representatives carry a strategic value in terms of both individual career development and the academic representation of the department. The performance demonstrated by students during the internship period can create a positive impact on the department's reputation; this also prepares the ground for stronger collaborations between academic institutions and the business world in the long run.

Optional internships are carried out within the scope of the 2025-2026 National Internship Program under the **Presidential Internship Mobilization**. For more detailed information on this subject, you can click here.
