Department of Fiscal Economics

Department of Fiscal Economics
It is an academic discipline that analyzes the economic activities of the state from the perspective of economic theory and public policies. This sub-discipline addresses the functioning of the public economy, the forms of state intervention in markets, and resource allocation processes from both normative and positive aspects. It aims to provide students with comprehensive evaluation skills by offering fundamental concepts such as public expenditures and public revenues, alongside theoretical frameworks and empirical examples that shape the economic role of the state.

The fields of study within this discipline include:

Regulation of labor markets through public policies, analysis of minimum wage policies, social security systems, and employment incentive mechanisms

Evaluation of the role of national property in economic policies, public enterprises, and privatization processes

Examination of the rationales and instruments of intervention within the context of state interventions, public goods, externalities, and market failures

Analysis of the economic effects of tax policies and their reflections on income distribution, resource allocation, and economic growth

The impact of public expenditures on the economic structure, and the sustainability perspective within the framework of welfare economics and fiscal policies

This department enables students to comprehend the dynamics of the public economy at both micro and macro levels, allowing them to develop analytical thinking in policy design and implementation processes. At the same time, it provides the ability to evaluate the economic role of the state within the framework of the principles of social justice, efficiency, and fiscal balance.
