About the Department

About the Undergraduate Program
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University was first established in 1992 within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Balıkesir University in Bandırma and began its educational activities in 2004. Subsequently, the Department of Political Science and Public Administration was incorporated into the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, which was established by Law No. 6640 published in the Official Gazette dated April 23, 2015, and numbered 29335. With a long academic history, our department continues its academic activities at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, the youngest state university, combining the experience of the past with the dynamism of youth. Academic activities within the Department of Political Science and Public Administration are carried out in the following sub-disciplines: Management Sciences Sub-Department Political and Social Sciences Sub-Department Urbanization and Environmental Issues Sub-Department Public Policy Sub-Department Legal Sciences Sub-Department The Department of Political Science and Public Administration, which also offers a Master's Degree with Thesis in Political Science and Public Administration and a Doctorate Program in Political Science and Public Administration, has an academic staff consisting of two professors, one associate professor, five doctoral faculty members, and four research assistants. In addition, our students can graduate with two bachelor's degrees by completing two different undergraduate programs simultaneously through the Double Major Program.

About the Master's Program

Following an application submitted to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) by the Department of Public Administration at Balıkesir University Bandırma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Master's program in Public Administration commenced in the fall semester of the 2004-2005 academic year under the Institute of Social Sciences. In 2012, the program was renamed Political Science and Public Administration. From that date until the establishment of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, (April 23, 2015), the Political Science and Public Administration Department remained within the Bandırma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (Bandırma İİBF) Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and the program was conducted in Bandırma by the faculty members of the Bandırma İİBF Department of Political Science and Public Administration. The master's program affiliated with the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, operating within Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, began its education and training in the fall semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.
About the Doctoral Program

The Political Science and Public Administration Department doctoral program began offering education and training in 2016 under the umbrella of the Institute of Social Sciences. Starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, it will continue its activities within the Graduate School.
