"The International Exhibition in Türkiye" Meets Art Lovers in Gönen

The international art exhibition "The International Exhibition in Turkey," organized by the Gönen Art Commission of our Gönen Vocational School, with the support of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, the Gönen Municipality, and the Gönen City Council, in collaboration with the Jordan-based Janaritta Armooti Gallery, was held at the Gönen City Square Annex Service Building Exhibition Hall.

The opening ceremony was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz, Gönen District Governor Ahmet Altıntaş, Gönen Deputy Mayor Mehmet Yılman, Gönen Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, Gönen City Council President Samet Arıker, Janaritta Armooti Gallery owner Janaritta Armooti, ​​academic and administrative staff, students, and art enthusiasts.

The exhibition, which features works in a wide range of art forms, including painting, sculpture, graphics, digital art, and photography, aims to encourage cultural interaction and highlight artistic diversity. Featuring works by a total of 46 local and international artists, the exhibition was met with considerable interest.

At the event, Associate Professor Dr. Eda Öz Çelikbaş, a faculty member at Karabük University's Safranbolu Fethi Toker Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, spoke with a presentation titled "Art Therapy; The Healing and Unifying Power of Art and Its Effect on Well-Being." During the talk, Lecturer Mona Emam, a faculty member at the Faculty of Theology, interpreted for our guests from abroad.

The exhibition was curated by Jordanian artist Janaritta Armooti, ​​Lebanese artist Gabriella Kanaan, and Lecturer Gökhan Koç, a member of the Gönen Art Commission.

The event also featured works by our program students Ece Ceren Asil and Emre Ersoy. Presentations were made by our students Aleyna Ankara and Hayriye İrem Ay. Members of the Gönen Young Vision Group actively participated in various roles throughout the event.

At the end of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz presented to curator Gabriella Kanaan: Gönen District Governor Ahmet Altıntaş presented plaques to Janaritta Armooti; Gönen Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz presented plaques to the exhibition's guest of honor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eda Öz Çelikbaş; and Gönen Deputy Mayor Mehmet Yılman presented plaques to Gönen City Council President Samet Arıker.

The program concluded with a group photo to commemorate the day.
