Qualified Steps in Education: Science and Art Meeting at Celal Toraman Anatolian High School
Celal Toraman Anatolian High School, located in the Burhaniye district of Balıkesir, hosted a remarkable event on April 19, 2025, in collaboration with Balıkesir University. The social sciences and natural sciences workshop, themed “NOKSAN,” attracted significant attention throughout the province with its scope and academic quality.
The event, which was the first science workshop and the third social sciences workshop organized by a high school in Balıkesir, attracted intense interest from the education community and students. The workshop, which was attended by 300 students from various high schools across the province of Balıkesir, featured 36 academics, artists, and educators who are experts in their fields. The event, which brought together scientific thought and art, featured a total of 35 different workshops, including 24 scientific, 7 artistic, and 2 sports-related workshops. The workshops aimed to raise awareness about various aspects of social and science studies, enhance students' knowledge levels, and support their individual development through interactive methods.
Within this scope, our Department Chair Prof. Dr. Aybeniz Akdeniz Ar participated in the business workshop with the theme “Markamız Noksan” and provided advice to students aspiring to become businesspeople regarding their undergraduate studies and future career goals.
The event concluded with a general evaluation and closing ceremony following the social sciences session, science session, and artistic and sports workshop applications. This exemplary workshop organized by Celal Toraman Anatolian High School contributed to increasing academic and artistic collaborations at the high school level in Balıkesir and was an important step in strengthening university-high school relations. The event provided students and educators with opportunities for multifaceted development.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Sabriye Çelik Uğuz for the invitation to participate and Dr. Zehra Nurdan Atalay for her companionship, and we wish them continued success.
