About the Department

About the Department of Economics

The Department of Economics was established in 1993 under Balıkesir University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Bandırma. The department started education on October 18, 1993, and graduated its first students in 1997. It was affiliated with Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, established by Law No. 6640 published in the Official Gazette dated April 23, 2015, and numbered 29335. An English preparatory class is offered in our department, depending on student preference. The Department of Economics provides formal education.

​​Academic Programs

In addition to undergraduate programs in Turkish and English, our department also offers Master's with Thesis, Master's in English with Thesis, and Doctorate programs. These programs are designed to guide students in all areas of the economics discipline and to develop their ability to think and make decisions as economists.

​​Academic Staff

The Department of Economics has a young, dynamic, and expert academic staff. Our staff continuously develops themselves to provide students with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills while conducting various research projects. In our department, there are 21 academic staff members in total, consisting of 8 Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, and 4 Research Assistants across 4 Divisions.

With our broad academic spectrum and strong academic staff, we support our students in reaching their academic and career goals by offering them various opportunities and learning resources.
