Program Learning Outcomes

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

The learning outcomes of the Undergraduate Economics Program have been designed to ensure achievement of the Program Educational Objectives and were formed by examining the employment areas of our graduates, taking into account the career goals and professional expectations of graduates. In determining the Program Learning Outcomes, the opinions of the Department of Economics’ internal and external stakeholders were consulted. At its meeting dated 13.06.2024, the Department Board decided that the Undergraduate Economics Program Learning Outcomes and the Program-Specific Learning Outcomes be set as below and announced on the department website. Currently, during the internal and external stakeholder meetings held regularly once every semester, reports on the effectiveness of the Program Learning Outcomes—primarily those prepared by the Assessment and Evaluation Commission—are evaluated.

Program Learning Outcomes
1 Analyzes economic and social phenomena in line with the doctrines of economics and related disciplines and gains the ability to implement them in practice. Program-Specific Learning Outcome (Economics)
2 Has the knowledge to explain consumption–production concepts at the micro level and fundamental economic phenomena at the macro level. Program-Specific Learning Outcome (Economics)

4 Has the competence to collect, analyze, and interpret economic data using statistical and mathematical techniques. Program-Specific Learning Outcome (Economics)
5 Develops research and information-retrieval skills and has the competence to work independently and assume responsibility.
6 Communicates effectively and develops social skills through creative and critical thinking.
7 Develops innovative solutions aimed at increasing social welfare and ensuring resource efficiency in solving economic problems.
8 Continuously improves learning skills and has the competence to transform them into social responsibility projects.
