Economics Alumni and Active Student Meetup-I

The "Alumni and Active Student Meetup-I", organized online by the Department of Economics at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, was held in an inspiring atmosphere that bridged the academic world and professional life. The event was moderated by the Vice Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Musa Bayır, and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Fatih Ayhan, along with faculty members Assoc. Prof. Armağan Türk, Res. Asst. Çağlar Orak, and Res. Asst. Dilara Özel.

Our esteemed alumni—Buse Topaloğlu, Deniz Sultan Şimşek, Emir Erkan Öncel, Hasan Yasin Doğan, Nida Bilgin, Oğulcan Keskin, Serkan Fidancı, Umutcan Memo, and Zeynep Bebek—participated as guest speakers and shared their career journey experiences. The speakers emphasized the strategic importance of internships, Erasmus mobility, Double Major, and Minor programs in career building.

Special focus was placed on the role of foreign language proficiency in global competition, and how participation in social activities and certificate programs conveys the image of a "self-improving individual" during job interviews. Furthermore, the high demand for economics graduates with strong technical expertise in financial markets was highlighted. The success of the program, which drew significant student interest, was also confirmed by the satisfaction survey conducted at the end of the session.
