Our Student’s TÜBİTAK 2209-A Project Success
Alperen Muştu, a student in the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, has achieved a significant success under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program.
The project entitled “Content Analysis of Financial Information Reliability on Social Media: A Systematic Examination of Finfluencer Posts”, prepared by our student under the supervision of Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Tuncer Çalışkan, has been awarded funding support by TÜBİTAK.
Within the scope of the project, the reliability of financial content shared on social media platforms will be systematically examined through categories such as source accuracy, visual trust indicators, emphasis on expertise, attribution of accuracy, and manipulative discourse. The study particularly aims to analyze the reliability of financial information shared by finfluencers on digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
With the rise of digitalization, social media has become an important source of information for users in areas such as investment, savings, credit, and personal financial management. In this context, the project aims to contribute to the literature on financial literacy and media studies by developing a systematic classification of the reliability levels of financial content presented on social media.
The project is also significant in terms of enhancing digital financial literacy and fostering a critical perspective among young users toward financial content shared on social media.
As a university, we congratulate our student and supervising faculty member and wish them continued success in their academic endeavors.
