LATERAL TRANSFER

As the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Department of Business Administration, we are pleased to welcome successful students from different universities or from different programs within our university. Lateral transfer is an important academic right that enables student transfer between equivalent degree programs at the same level.

Through lateral transfer, you can leave the university or department you are currently studying in, transfer to our Department of Business Administration, and continue your education from where you left off. This system, which allows applications based on either grade point average (GPA) or central placement score (Additional Article-1), offers you the opportunity to develop yourself in a new academic environment.

If you are studying at another university or department but want to pursue Business Administration, a lateral transfer might be the right step for you!

📋 Lateral Transfer Types

1. Lateral Transfer Based on Grade Point Average (GPA) It is a type of transfer made between equivalent degree programs at the same level based on the student's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). In the evaluation, 60% of the student's CGPA and 40% of their YKS (Higher Education Institutions Examination) score are considered together, and candidates are ranked from highest to lowest score and placed within the quota.

2. Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score (Additional Article-1) In this type of transfer, the student's YKS score from the year they registered at the university is taken as the basis. Placements are made within the quota by ranking the applicants from highest to lowest score. Through this method, it is possible to transfer to programs that admitted students with a base score equal to or lower than your YKS score in the year you registered.

3. Internal (Intra-Institutional) Lateral Transfer It is a type of transfer made between different departments within Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. Transfers can be made to the Department of Business Administration from within the same faculty or from other faculties and schools of the university.

✅ Who Can Apply? What Are the Application Requirements?

Lateral transfers cannot be made to the first and last semesters of associate degree programs, and the first two and last two semesters of undergraduate programs.

• Candidates applying based on GPA must not have received any disciplinary penalties.
• Students applying from evening education to regular (daytime) education must be in the top ten percent bracket in the YKS in the relevant year.
• Candidates must not have previously made a lateral transfer under Additional Article-1.
• Applications are made online; applications made in person or by mail are not accepted.
• All courses are expected to be successfully completed by the application dates.

⚠️ Important Note: Lateral transfer quotas and application dates are re-determined by YÖK (Council of Higher Education) every semester, and updated information is announced on the Registrar's Office website.

📄 Required Documents for Application

• Online Application Form (The student can apply to only one program.)
• Transcript: An official document obtained from the departing institution showing all courses taken and grades received.
• Course Contents (With QR code, electronically signed)
• A document indicating that a lateral transfer under Additional Article-1 has not been made (for those applying with Additional Article-1)
• A document indicating no disciplinary penalty has been received (for those applying based on GPA)
• A document indicating being in the top 10% for those applying from evening education to regular education

ℹ️ Information: Original copies of the documents uploaded to the system during the application will be requested during final registration. Students who make false declarations will not be registered, and their registered universities will be notified.
